„Szkuner” Fishing Services Enterprise was launched on 1 January 1955. The company was founded when Fishing and Fish Services Enterprise "Arka" from Gdynia became an independent branch, having existed in Władysławowo since 1951.

"Szkuner" Ltd. is mainly engaged in fishing and fish processing, but the company is also active in the management of fishing port in Wladyslawowo and shipyard services, repairs of boats and smaller vessels. "Szkuner" also provides fishing boats with ice and fish packaging.

In the fifties, "Szkuner" operated small fishing boats (15-17m), but was gradually bringing larger units into service. With the development of the company the number of boats has increased to over 50 (in 1982. up to 57 units). Currently the company owns six boats.

Being in possession of a large and modern fleet contributed to the development of processing facilities in the port. In the 60’s "Szkuner" built an flake ice plant and a factory of fishmeal and cod liver oil. At that time, also a fish processing hall, cold stores, freezing equipment and cold storage were put into service.

In subsequent years, the company launched lines for cod and herring filleting and put into service a new freezing cabinet. In recent years, thanks to funds obtained from the European Union, it was able to build a modern cold storage and modernize production facilities.

There have also been a number of investments in the Ship Repair Yard.

“Szkuner” is an environmentally-friendly company, engaging into actions aimed at environmental protection, including cessation of production of fishmeal, building pre-treatment plants, and introducing ecological oil-fired boilers.

The company attaches great importance to the quality of fish products. The implementation of Quality Control HACCP system and Food Safety Management System ISO 22 000:2005 guarantees the highest quality of fish products.

From 1 November 2007, the company operates under the name Fishing Services Enterprise "Szkuner" with limited liability (ltd).
